I would like to say my views on one of the challenge, which is the'Learning in the rural schools'
If you watch the video in the above link you will understand the learning that is happening in the rural schools today. I totally agree that technology is required to support learning.. But the problem is, we cannot expect all the rural schools to have technology for learning. There are problems of demand and supply of funds for technology in those schools. The factors of handling the technology, power(electricity) demand and supply are some which are to be considered. According to me, the 'non technological' support can be adopted to improve learning instead of depending and waiting for 'technological' support.
'Non Tech' solutions look simple, but are complex when they are actually analysed. They help teachers in imparting many abilities and skill in the students. For example, when you encourage students to read books and tell about what they have read, i.e. the books apart from text books but which are linked to the subject, their knowledge will be developed. It will impart the habit of reading, which is necessary for their development in academics, communication skills during the narration of the book read, GK, etc. . Another example is creating Focus groups assigned with a mentor, discussing about their progress, improvements required, etc. (which are a little different from organizational perspective where the concept of Focus Group is used).
Like this there are many such solutions which are unexplored......
